HOW THIS MODEL WORKS +

This is an educational, deterministic strategy model on fictional circuits. All drivers use equal car performance. Their names and numbers are identities, not real-world performance ratings. Race results do not predict a Grand Prix.

Lap time combines a circuit baseline, compound pace, quadratic tyre degradation, weather mismatch, fuel burn and the wing trade-off. More attack reduces lap time but increases tyre wear. Stops happen at the end of a lap; the selected after-stop compound is fitted at every stop.

Rain arrives on the selected lap and persists. The simplified safety car lasts two laps and reduces pit loss to 55% of normal; it does not bunch the field. Real sporting compound rules, incidents, traffic, overtaking and individual driver ability are outside this model.

Reference strategy: one stop, 60% attack and a wing setting matched to the circuit. In changeable weather it stops one lap before rain, or on lap 2 if rain arrives at the earliest allowed point. Its weather and safety-car schedule match yours.
