Drivers. Data.
Perspective.
A place to understand the people, numbers and possibilities behind Formula 1. Explore the driver database, compare the grid and read the reasoning behind each race forecast.
Read the evidence
Research pages bring the supplied analysis, charts and methodology together. Available source documents and datasets are linked with each report. An English web edition may accompany an original document in another language.
Check the date
Reports and profile statistics are dated snapshots. A report’s data cutoff describes the information used by its analysis; it is separate from its publication date. These pages are not a live timing or race-results service.
Understand the estimates
Driver salaries are estimates from the publications cited on each profile, not verified payroll records. Salary periods, bonus treatment and contract options can differ. Read the source notes before comparing figures.
Keep forecasts in context
A probability is a model output, not a guaranteed result. Reports describe their assumptions and limitations. Publishing supplied results does not mean their calculations have been independently reproduced; the report’s source note explains what was available.
Explore, then experiment
Driver and team pages collect career records, season statistics and contract information. The Playground and Race Director offer simplified, illustrative experiences. Their scores and outcomes are not real-world performance forecasts.
An independent perspective
Grid Pace Lab is an independent project and is not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA, any team or driver. Photography, source reports and model credits are attributed where used. Editorial artwork is illustrative.
