The early-stop experiment.
Pit on lap 8 or stay out until lap 16? Run a controlled comparison and find out where the time goes.
The brief
You have one pit stop and 24 laps at the fictional APEX Ring. Keep the weather dry, choose soft tyres and set pace to 70%. Your only variable is the pit lap.
Run A: stop early
Set the stop to lap 8 and run the simulation. Download your result. Look at the laps immediately before and after the stop, then the final five laps.
Run B: extend the stint
Keep the same weather, starting tyre and pace. Move the stop to lap 16 and run again. Compare total time and the shape of the lap chart.
Debrief
Which stint carried the larger tyre penalty? Did the early advantage survive to the finish? Try lap 12 as a third reference. The answer is specific to the APEX educational model; it is not advice for a real race.
